The gummy bear experiment

Although this isn't really related to Thanksgiving, nor is it real cooking, this is a fun little tidbit that I learned on Thanksgiving.

Did you know that if you put a gummy bear in water and let it sit still for about 24 hours, it'll grow to be the size of a cinnamon bear? It's pretty cool!

lol This reminds me of when I used to put Peeps in the microwave and watch them grow to be really big. The Peeps you can eat then, and they just taste like warm marshmallow (or use them in s'mores, etc.) I wonder what you could do with a water-logged gummy bear? :)

We did a "gummy bear" experiment in my 10th grade chem class to illustrate what happens to human bodies in a plane crash....your experiment if far less morbid!

The kids will love this one! Thanks for the wonderful idea! I also like to make rainbow gummy bears by mix and matching their heads and bottoms.
